Join The Thirteen as we explore Romantic ideals in music with composers from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. At the heart of this concert is Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations, a lush setting of ancient Irish poetry which The Thirteen first performed in 2016. Also including Benjamin Britten’s end-of-life magnum opus Sacred and Profane, two of Brahms’ dramatic motets, a world premiere by British composer Ed Rex, and works by Bruckner, George Walker, and Caroline Shaw.
